about me... 

I'm a first generation med student, so I know firsthand the challenges of applying to med school - especially if you don't have a guide.

I vividly remember preparing for the MCAT exam. While tremendously exciting at times, the process was super stressful. I had just graduated from college and was studying at night while working a day job. I knew that hard work could get me the score that I wanted, but I also struggled with uncertainties. What was the optimal study strategy? What topics should I emphasize? Perhaps most importantly: when should I pull the trigger and take the exam?

I am now an MD PhD trainee at the University of Colorado. As I reflect on my preparation for the MCAT, I realize that what I was missing at the time was a mentor. Someone I could come to with questions about both content and strategy. Someone I could trust.

 

I took the MCAT one time and achieved a score of 521.
